Mr. Hobbs’ Vacation

A delightful book by Edward Streeter, American novelist (1891 – 1976) about a Mr. Hobbs, an American who finally takes a holiday in an English island home with his wife and their large family comprising of his two daughters, their husbands, their children and dogs. Its a rip roaring humorous take on the travails of taking a well earned holiday amidst so much of hullabaloo. Edward Streeter is more famous for his 1949 novel “Father of the Bride” which was been immortalized by Steve Martin in the 1991 film and there were earlier versions also.
